About Us
SiteSmart is a small, friendly web company, based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Your project will be managed by Corinne Davies, and parts of it will be completed in-house or by one of the friendly freelancers we collaborate with. As a rule we all work remotely, without a central office (usually based at home, or wherever our current plans may take us).
Five years on, we have found this model to be ideal for keeping overheads, time away from our families, and our carbon footprint to a minimum. Of course, we’re conscious that this doesn’t affect our availability to clients, so we ask that any urgent or time-specific matters be dealt with by phone, rather than email or text message.
By focusing on Content Management Systems (CMS), we enable website owners to easily keep their websites up to date, without needing to come back to us for regular changes. Some aspects of website modification do have to be made by a designer or programmer, but minimising this helps to reduce the time and costs associated with running a website.
We work with a variety of CMS platforms and try wherever possible to use open source CMS software, however we have significant expertise in working with Wordpress and heavily prefer it for many web situations. This type of software has the benefit of being free to use (no software license required), as well as being supported worldwide and used on thousands of websites.
Your website will be search engine-friendly and include Google Analytics to track usage and traffic. A web publication is not a static thing, and having these features can easily highlight areas where changes are needed over time.
SiteSmart websites are built with CSS, adhere to web standards, and where appropriate, to the New Zealand E-Government guidelines.
